It might be a mute point & I didn't read every comment. What time did the ID cards arrive @ the field? In theory because Hellas cards weren't @ the game they didn't have any legit players @ Lochside @ kickoff (6:15). In theory every team has a 15 min grace period to get at least 7 players on the pitch or the game is abandoned. If the only issue was the no cards & 6:15pm & the cards were there by 6:30 & the Hellas had at least 7 players ready to play. I am not sure Hellas forfeited the game. Hellas if you dodge the fine & forfeit I will see you at Greekfest next September, & I hope there is some ouzo waiting for me. The cards were on the field at exactly 631... They were in the parking lot by the club house at 629 Ps tons of ouzo!!!

This is from the VISL handbook and it is clear that the ID cards are to be produced before the game and there is no mention of a grace period after kickoff. If the Hellas do have an issue with the rule it might be best to get involved with the VISL and have it brought up at one of the general meetings. It does sound reasonable to accept provincial or federal issued ID as a substitute. It sucks that there are some crazy rules you can forfeit games (ref not showing up) but in order to deal with it one must get involved in league matters and not whine about it here as it does not offer many solutions to that problem.
3. Player and Team Official ID: All players and Team Officials are required to have valid VISL issued ID cards. These cards must be given to the referee before each game to determine eligibility to play. Permit players and Under 21 call up players are required to produce valid ID cards when playing up. If a player cannot produce an ID card for a match he will not be eligible to play. If a team cannot produce ID cards before a game they are deemed to have forfeited the match and the appropriate fine will be levied. A team may, once per season, use a photocopied set of ID cards if the originals are unavailable. Players that are newly registered with the VISL may have a one game grace period where an ID card is not required, however, photo ID and a signed Player Form must be provided to the referee to be considered eligible to play in a match. After the grace period the player must have an ID card to be able to play in his next game. Replacement ID cards are available at the Soccer Office at the appropriate fee. Contact the Soccer Office for more information. Please note that ID cards are also mandatory for those teams that continue on to Provincial Cup play.

TL;DR -Team A fails to produce ID cards prior to kick off. -Referee and Team B coach agree to wait an additional 5 minutes after kick off, despite no rule requiring them to do so. -ID cards still not presented after 5 minutes and the referee advises Team B coach they can continue to wait, or accept Team A's forfeit. -Team B coach chooses to accept the forfeit, referee leaves along with several players. -Bickering on field ensues for another 5-10 minutes (cards have still not shown up) before most others leave as well. -Bickering on forums continues for subsequent 3 days (and counting)

Wow we missed an eventful weekend going to Vancouver! What about the league proposing that once a season if cards are forgot player s can be verified by the pictures on the team page which are the photos off our cards and confirm they match the team sheet names...... And they have to be registered to be on there. We would propose it but the meeting is miles away so if one of you guys (perhaps a Hellas team person) can go and submit cheers. Also going to photocopy all our cards..... Just in case as that would be a long drive home.... And for the record, we would've played because we just want to play but I also understand if they have an agenda and want to push for second place in the league behind us!

Yes a few of us have photo copies just in case. Sensible round up by mr. Tom Cruise there, the only thing missed was that the ref told us (does this make it true?) that him (or hellas player? i think it was Hellas player) got Vince on the phone and was told waiting was not an option other than if the ref 'needed to take a leak'. I feel that took the power away from us but it doesn't make for as interesting a read. The ref immediately left which was probably a good thing for Johnny as he might be serving a suspension next week otherwise.

"Johnny" There are two of them on our team be clear... what was done to deserve a suspension? Also, making more things up: Yes there was a call to Vince, by both the reff and the Hellas player on Speaker phone. He said it's the reff's discretion as long as both teams agreed, and we left him to enjoy his evening... LOOK.... YOUR TEAM DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE US 14 MINUTES AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, NOTHING ELSE... I BEG YOU TO STOP DANCING AROUND THE ISSUE, BE A MAN AND ANSWER THIS SIMPLE QUESTION: DID YOUR COACH PULL A TOTAL BRUTAL/UNSPORTSMANLIKE MOVE OR NOT???

Coach said Yes we win 3-0... Then reff said " I just sent their player to get the Cards so I will give them 5mins more"... To which the coach alone protested... (Reff was notably shocked/annoyed by the coach to be so quick to tell him he must make us forfeit) - True, ID cards obviously didn't arrive in five mins but did in 14... (I have the exact time stamps on my phone of the outgoing call made when cards were realized missing, and again the second they arrived back at the field)... - False, Coach, not "team" again, (It takes all the members on a team to make a team and as was stated by realcordova above there were multiple players that wanted to play "the irked ones who wanted more play time" I believe he called them... so NO the "team" did not make this choice), told his players to undress and told the reff to enforce the forfeit or he would just dispute the game anyways. - True, reff left... In disgust that is, not before apologizing to us saying "sorry I truly thought when I told him it was only going to take like 15mins to get the cards he wouldn't care" - Half true, Bickering was happening but way more than half the people were still there, our whole team would equal half, so if you were still there, that would equal more than half... (I use logic and facts, you should try it) - 100% True, because you guys are total wankers who cannot admit you pulled a crappy, chicken $hit, low life, move because you were too afraid to play us because you had injuries and you need to get your team promoted at the cost of keeping the integrity of soccer alive and showing true sportsmanship... (which is prevalent in the comments posted by all the organizations/coaches/etc, other than the ones tied to you...

Yawn. To b**ch out SFFC about something totally different, what's up with the late Sunday night kick offs. 6pm Sunday nighters? Probably biggest club in VISL, can't you fit your men's games in Fri/Sat night or Sunday afternoon? Weight to be gained and couch to be maintained on Sunday nights. Figure it out!

This should not surprise anyone
Isn't this the same coach and team that beat a 7 men PL team 18-0. And when the ref called the game early he was p**sed that they could not score more goals

Good one Bob. I was hoping someone would remember that one. They were in div2 last yr fighting to stay up. He figured if he could sh*t can PLO Orange and if it came down to GA N GF he would stay up. End of day PLO folded and all points were taken away from all teams and GA and GF. They couldnt close the deal after that and found themselves in div3 this yr. Watch the Karma Cops reappear once again.
