I'm guessing for those of you who have seen the press release that Vince Greco is stepping down from his current roll as President, that at least some of you were SHOCKED to learn that it's not a paid position.. You would think for someone who has been doing it as long as he has, and as engagingly, that it's a full time job.
Anyway, my point and concern is that to keep the standard that we have all become accustomed to in the league, we need this to be a paid position as I don't believe anyone will be able to put those shoes on, and have 2018-2019 be anywhere as consistent as previous years.
Just wanted to open this Forum up as I believe it to be integral for a successful conclusion to this year, as well as another exceptional year next year!
have a great day footy fans.

Thanks Aliability. This discussion has been going around our Board table for some time. First it went around a little sub committee (September onwards) to bash around some ideas and possibilities, now it has been taken on by Past President Fraser Sim as a subject to take to the membership in January. It is also being put forth by a member within a club under our umbrella, now you, probably others are wondering the same. It obviously affects all membership as it would mean that fees would have to be raised to cover the administrative position - and $ is tougher to come by these days .......almost as tough as time.
I don't mind answering whatever questions if that could help shed a bit of light. As I have mentioned at League meetings the past couple years, we are fortunate that this League has gone as long as it has based on a volunteer group. It was a big part of why we were / are financially stable. We have come to a point where it has grown to be too much.......at least for me anyways.....at least to maintain levels that we are at presently. There is a fair share that happens behind the scenes in developing and putting things together. There are a lot of things that need fine tuning and even more attention - and there is a constant need to adhere to regulations by parent organizations and the desire for us to be consistent locally. There are plenty of s**tty decisions that need to be made on a regular basis, those are not taken lightly by any means.
Anyways - I could babble on for a while, but will cut it off there for now and go pick up a kid.
