I'd say this is the 4th game in a row where the home teams goals were not anchored to the field. Each time it has been mentioned to the attending referee. I thought this was a forfeit?? Can we all hear the ruling on this??

Correct, the game is not to be played unless the goals on the grass fields are anchored. There was a memo sent out to all teams and to all referees. The referee is to inform the teams to get them anchored, if they are not - then the game should not be getting played. If the referee is not checking, this needs to be brought to his attention to deal with. If it is not getting dealt with by the referee, then an email of complaint is to be sent to the League so it can be followed up on. There is no other option here - this is a safety rule that we have to follow from BC Soccer. Obviously it is not being treated as such and we will have to be more forceful in handing out sanctions to teams or officials that do not follow the procedure. Also, we need to clean up the rule as how it is written in the rules/regs. There is conflicting language in 2 different sections. Teams using city or rented fields are to bring their own anchors (so the visiting team needs to bring their own) - whereas club fields or regular users of some fields typically have a set there at all times. (Like netting and corner flags) Some of these rules are also a little more strict for Div 1 & 2 teams as the home team is expected to supply 4 corner flags and both nets. So that is it. I have already received 1 note about a game that happened today - might be yours - if not, you know what your team admin has to do next.
