Soooo as things heat up on the boards it's only fitting that it transpire onto the fields rights?!
Tonight's game at Goudy field has Hellas and PLKT- if pl can keep up their strong defensive showings they should stand a chance... however as I mentioned earlier today, Greeks are hot and will be tough to stop... 4-0 Greeks.
**Match of the week alert** The game everyone has been waiting for!!!! I love that gorge is at home for this as well... GB says the goaltending has toughened up for JDF, but how good can he be... I'm hopeful that it will be a good game and my prediction out of optimism is 1-1 draw... good luck to both
This must be a typo Hellas v CR again!
3 games in 8 days for CR and 3 games in 7 days for Hellas.... won't be as sexy as the first tilt... 3-1 Greeks.
AA's play castaways on the road.... money is on castys unfortunately.. the As are struggling for guys and that's always a long road trip... 2-0 castys
Cowichan @ PLKT- we'll see how PL plays tonight as I think that'll indicate their chances. For now tho 2-1 for cow... they're fighting outta the cellar!!!
Good luck to all and safe travels

Hellas win 3-0. Couldn't tell if the guy on PL was either the nicest player in the visl, or the best chirper I've met... still don't know his angle... good game but Hellas counter attack was too much for the lakers... cudos to the Greek goalie!

Watched the game last night with Hellas and PL Kal Tire and I find it amusing that during the entire game not only were the Hellas players b**ching and swearing at the referee, but to the Kal Tire players and even each other and towards their own coach! Each and every play Hellas acted like any foul they committed wasn't worthy of a call from the referee, but when the physical play turned on them they howled in protest. Give me a break fellas your a skilled team and deservedly won the game handily but your antics are way overboard and frankly I'm glad I left my kids at home as I found the language coming from your side offensive in the extreme! Of course that is your rep, but I'd take a moment to reflect on how your actions might affect the youngsters listening from the sidelines! Show some decency, please! A soccer fan!

Haha. all I'm Going to take from that post is "your a skilled team and deservedly won the game handily" end quote. And I will agree with that statement... other than you and a couple Greek dads, there was no one to hear our cries last night... hoodie was reffing... he didn't seem to have much of an issue with our language so we acted accordingly. I'm sorry a couple big words offended you, I can assure you they were only meant to offfend the person the comments were directed at.

Of course that is your rep, but I'd take a moment to reflect on how your actions might affect the youngsters listening from the sidelines! Show some decency, please! A soccer fan! You must be joking... PL got worked and now someone is looking for any reason to put the Hellas down... I remember the PL Goalie yelling the "eff" word very loudly many times and a Hellas player saying "wow that was loud enough for the side lines to hear hoodie". The response from the loudest mouth PL player was "you're going to complain about swearing grow up you "effing p**sy"... I like how you are trying to say that PL wasn't swearing and complaining at all, that lie just takes away all validation from your entire post... Off the start PL were yellling at the reff to the point where the Hellas had to wait to take their corner so Hoodie could sort the two PL players out... You want to use the word "Classy"? Ok how about the Hellas players coming to PL players aid when they needed help with cramping legs or helping them up after 50/50 tackles etc.. A few of the more skilled PL players even hugged Hellas players after the game... Whereas when PL knew the game was out of reach their unskilled players (bigger guy on left defense) started taking extreme cheap shots at the Hellas strikers and this is when the Hellas started to get more vocal. Sooooo, I'm not sure which is worse for your kids, yelling and swearing from both teams or for the kiddies to think it's ok to attack players behind the play or to try and intentionally injure players just because you are losing the game??? (contradict yourself more why don't you because we all know loud language is worse than violence right?)... Overall, Hellas not only outclassed PL in terms of soccer skill/play but also in sportsmanship... (and that statement isn't directed to all the PL Players, they did have some classy guys with skill, but more so it's directed towards the cheap-shotting, poor sport losers, the group in which I'm sure flyonthewall falls under). Anyways, good luck with the rest your search for morals in soccer for the "kids" that weren't even at the game... xoxo

Dear Just wait, Your right of course some of the PL lads were just as bad and I'm not saying all the Hellas players didn't show some class, but the Hellas reputation is what it is so I'll leave it at that. The referee might have intervened sooner and clamped down on players on both sides to discipline said players on both teams to keep the naughty language to a minimum and cut out the bs. I did enjoy the Hellas overall performance and finishing and wished that the skill level shown might have been the issue without the extra curricular complaining! 'Nuff said'!

Let's go 50/50... I'm not a weather expert, but its a little warmer here now and snow is melting DT Victoria already. As long as no more falls tonight, we should be able to play on turf. My guess however is that any grass games are S.O.L.
JDF PL game was cancelled on turf, but likely because of PL's cup game!

This sucks - especially as we are starting to enter the opening rounds of Cup play. No real definite answer for you - but we will try to get in as many games as possible. It is supposed to dump again here in Victoria Wednesday, then warm up quite a bit on Thursday. Will that happen?? Only the guy with the crystal ball could really tell us. (I miss him by the way) If fields are clear - local games will definitely happen. If there is still snow on fields, obviously a no go. We know there is a lot more snow north of the Malahat - especially north of Nanaimo......that doesn't look good. If temperatures are still around freezing, we will have to look at the whole situation and make a call. If we do end up shutting down a chunk of this weekend ....... I hope teams put their heads together and start thinking about double headers to plan. While we are no where near as bad as the Mainland, we are behind the 8 ball a bit.......so......better you guys schedule and come up with something rather than us guess and then that become something in stone.
Hope that helps .....a little.
