Bays United is looking good this year, should be a contender for the top spot.

Incorrect score handed in tonight from Lochside Park between PLSC Kal Tire vs. SFFC Boston Pizza. The score was 5 to 1 for Kal Tire and not the other way round.

My mistake on the recording side, which is now fixed. A field mix-up meant the Bays vs Fernwood game didn't get played - it will be re-scheduled.

Field mix-up meaning that we showed up to a field with no lines painted and the goals still chained to the fence, called the field scheduler and were told to move the game to Glasgow only to arrive there and get booted by a Masters game because their game at Topaz was also double booked.
Good start to the year!

Good start to the year! Indeed. No explanation given yet, so far as I know. Pretty bush league Bays 3-0 over PLSC Kal Tire. Good game. The turf and weather allowed for some decent div 4 skill on both sides. PLSC was pretty lippy throughout, though, with their coach setting the bar. We hope they can keep it together in future matches!

I guess I will reply to the field screw up - from what I understand, the city actually double booked a field and because it was a kids game ( and a team was from the Mainland ) they were "allowed" to keep the field ..........especially because of the traveling team. Doesn't usually happen, but there is new people working at the city this year and there is a small learning curve.........she is super nice and pretty sure it won't be an ongoing thing. Having said that, if it does keep happening, we will fire off a hate email and have a moan etc......prety sure it was a 1 of thing ------- just bad timing for the opening game sucks even more.

Let's just say that if relegation were possible, we'd be amongst the favourites.

Tritons 2 - Bays 0
Tritons scored their 2 goals within the first 10/15 minutes as Bays struggled to find their feet against an effective 'kick ball far and run after it' Tritons offense. Bays hit the post in tight and later the crossbar on a strike from distance, but couldn't get anything past their keeper. Decent game, though both teams struggled with the ridiculous field conditions that are Glasgow Field.
Also - Tritons player went down with about 10 minutes to go after a collision. Seemed very serious so the game was called. Ambulance came, stretchered off, theory was a collapsed lung. Apparently it just ended up being some (seriously) bruised ribs. Glad to hear it.
Predictions...
Sooke @ Fernwood Sooke will prove that they are not to be contended with. Last place is theirs alone. 3-1 win for Fernwood
Bays @ Lakehill Key injuries and absences have hampered Bays of late as they limp toward the break..... should be a tighter match than last time. 10-10 tie
SFFC @ Gorge Gorge, master of the low-scoring affair, take it 1-0 in an upset.
Tritons @ PLSC Tritons will not be the team to end PL's win streak. 3-1 PLSC

Enjoy the wind lads. Here are my wonderful and weird prognostications for Sunday's game.
Sooke vs. Fernwood. Both teams seem to play a similar style in the kick and run game and whomever does it better should prevail, but playing on Glasgow field will negate any kind of skill and finishing. Scoreless draw!
Bays vs. Lakehill. Bays seem to be struggling of late with injuries, etc. and Lakehill I believe will be on home turf with most of their lineup intact so I'm sensing a 3 to 1 win for Hooligans.
SFFC vs. Gorge. As most can agree Gorge are stingy defensively and this will be another 1 to nil game, but this time Gorge comes out the winner!
Tritons vs. PLSC. Tritons are much improved club that shouldn't be taken lightly as they have the ability for an upset, but not in this game. I see at least 4 or more goals for PLSC and another shutout as their keeper is top notch and hard to get one past him!

Gents, In our game with Tritons ending in a 1 to 1 score. I must give credit to the Triton players as they played an outstanding game and very easily could've beaten my Kal Tire squad. This is the best Triton club I've seen over these many years and in the playoffs they will be a tough club to beat. A tip of the cap to their lads and I wish them well in the playoffs and I know it'll be a tough match if we play them again!
I wiah all the teams in Division 4B a Merry Xmas and have fun over the holidays and we'll see what transpires once our round of games are complete. As is the custom in past years the top four will play an extra game each for total of 17 games and the bottom 3 will get two extra games for a total of 16 games. Good luck to all. See y'all in the playoffs!

Curious as to when the schedule will be out to reflect make up games. Hoping the weather turns. Nothing like a little soccer on an ice rink.
