Well time to get the banter going. Thought Chuck Norris would have got it going by now. Here r my predictions. On one side of the draw I see both George teams playing each other in the semis. Other side is the group of death. Fernwood should get to the semis but there dance partner who knows. CR Mid Isle JDF. Did Mid Isle lose to many players to Nam Div1 at transfer dead line. Can JDF fly in there top player for another cup run. CR has the home game if they get past there 1st game vs winner of Mid Isle vs JDF. Mid Isle should win there 1st game. Mid Isle vs JDF could be a gooder if they meet. JDF gets home field. I would play em on grass. Be interesting to see JDF vs CR again up in CR. Could show that game on pay per view. Maybe Castys can make a run. Anyways that's my call. Next.

Hahah c'mon you, greenbastard save a subject for week 2 of the cup! First ticket: the Portuguese play the pilgrims.... the porkchops have been bringing alllll the skill back to a side that one could say was a div 2 side 3 years ago.... my money is on the Sagres in a blowout! 4-0 Prospect 3a V bays 3b- I've always hated bays.... but man that squad looks like they can bury and prospect is just, well.... basic. 3-0 bays Prospect 3b hosting CR- that's a long way to go, for a team who one might say is hot or cold.... and PL b has a very sting record.... game of the week for me and I foresee 2-1 Prospect Mid island V sffc- how are ya?! Tough break to everyone on this side of the draw... this is certainly the side of death!!! I like that mid isl has lost some players.... but I still think they squeak out a win on the road. 1-0 Thanks for firing this up GB all fer now, aliability

Was an interesting one at Tyndall tonight. Putting it mildly.....and I quote somebody that was involved in the game - "this game will not be going down as a classic".
Mid ISle beats Saanich Fusion 3-2. Overall, a fair result on the night.
Couple beauty goals (1 & 2) by Mid Isle. The last winning goal for Mid Isle was soft..../ accidental. Both benches seemed light......I thought I saw Mid Isle only playing with 10......then a little red card late and things seemed like they might get testy - but not really.
I'm sure the SF team or MI team could offer a perspective......might not be as polite as mine.....

Good game at Hampton tonight as Gorge Us-guys defeated Bays Utd 2-0. I thought Gorge had a lot more chances and play, but Bays kept it at 1-0 for the longest time. Bays almost ted it up late and made Gorge pay for missing chances, but after their point blank chance was stopped, Gorge went the other way and punished Bays for a backline mistake. Bragging right for 3A as they take down a 3B team on this occasion.

CR over PL 4-3 ET tonight at layritz, has to be early nomination for game of the tournament. As ugly as the soccer was at times, it was a bit of a thriller. PL scored with 5 left to tie it at 2-2, then created a number of chances that I'm sure they'll look back on with angst... Extra time saw CR claw back a bit of momentum and pot a goal against the run of play, then another on a poor give away by their keeper. PL scored with half a second left to make it 4-3, but too little too late. Hell of a battle, PL represented well and shouldn't hang their heads as they played great soccer and were all class after the final whistle.

Mid Isle over JDF 2-0 . Def the better team today. If they play like that the rest of the tourney they will be very hard to beat. Good luck to the rest of the remaining 3a teams.

Hellas FC 3A vs FC Sagres 4A in Challenge Cup action.
Hellas controlled much of the 1st half of play and ended up going 2-0 at the half but could have been more. Sagres came on strong in the second half and scored 3 straight goals - one from a corner and 2 from distance over the goalie's head. Hellas pushed hard right back and end up with 2 goals in the last 15 minutes to take the win and move on to the next round. Exciting game and well played by both teams. Fair result in the end I think... but then again, I'm kinda biased. Lol. On to the next round!

I will report on this as I am an Italian and I was watching the Greeks & Portugeese. Admittedly, I love lamb and the little potatoes, but also enjoy a great befana and spicy chorizo.
Hellas up 2-0 at Half, could of had more, started 2H and could have added to their lead - but didn't. Sagres kept working hard and in 20 minutes - tied up the game. Sagres actually started carrying more of the play and I thought were playing very well. Yes, momentum was a factor! Sagres then scored a soft go ahead goal around the 75' mark and went up 3-2. Hellas were definitely pushing at this point, their bench was the quietest I have ever witnessed post the go ahead goal by Sagres......it was actually quite pleasant for a moment. But then the fans started getting into it....they absolutely willed Hellas to get the tying goal.....I think it was Nico from a corner kick at minute 80. Hellas had more chances, and it looked like Nico was going to score again - just sailed wide. The solo red haired guy up front for Hellas looked like he was going to deliver some good fortune, but the Sagres defense kept stopping him with a flying leg or chest or anything else they threw at him. At 87', a back heal goal from _______?? and now Hellas were up 4-3. Fans were speaking in tongue.....I couldn't get Siri out in time to get several translations. It was pretty awesome though.
Sagres had a couple semi chances at the end, but come final whistle - it was not meant to be. They putout a great effort I thought, and almost snuck a rsult out from Hellas - no shame in that result though. Looking forward to the video .........unless the crew is on strike or something !!
Well done guys, was fun to see some passion !!

______=Nico Mavrikos. My favorite goal of the year!
It was a great game, and as always a spirited affair that you only get from Nationality teams. Not to mention I'm sure everyone is aware of where both the Greek and Portuguese Hall are?! I'm not sure about you lot, but I hate my nosey neighbors... It certainly showed tonight and what a result.
Great game, Sagres showed the Greeks that they were good enough to play in Div. 3 and fought till the end, fortunately so did the Hellas.
Thanks to all who came out!
