On the top half of the draw - in the other 1/4 Final tonight - Cowichan defeated Nanaimo 3-1. Apparently Nanaimo took a red (2 yellows) when the game was 1-1......which obviously made their task that much harder. So Saanich Fusion will host Cowichan in a couple weeks.
On the bottom side of the draw - Jordie Hughes had a couple goals, Elliot shutout as Bays Div 1 beat Nanaimo Div 2 by score of 2-0. 1 of the goals was late - sounds like it was a tight match. For the 2nd week in a row Cody did not receive a yellow card and was awarded one of the top 3 stars of the night. Bays will face the winner of Westcastle vs Lakehill. That game is tomorrow, 4 pm at Braefoot.

Westcastle over Lakehill 3-2 this afternoon. Westcastle dominated early and should have been up a bunch.......good tending from Gabe, woodwork, and missed opportunities - 1-1 at half after Lakehill scored against the flow a little. 2nd half, more Westcastle - especially when Anthony went down with hammy injury. Westcastle up 3-1, Lakehill score one late - fair result on the day.
Westcastle will face Bays in the 2nd semi final. Most likely on Friday the 18th as well. Hopefully we can spread the games an hour apart or so.......
I cannot confirm weather or not that was Hodgy that got pulled over for speeding on McKenzie en route to the liquor store.......we hope not !

The Feature game of the VISL Cup Finals, the Sir John Jackson Cup. A trophy that has not only been contested for 101 years - but also the original trophy given out 101 years ago. Pretty sure no other soccer league in BC has those bragging rights! The game itself had Cowichan defeat Bays 2-0 in 120 minutes. Cooper Barry scored the first goal at 105' after a beautiful set up from Paddy Nelson. Paddy then added the insurance marker at 114'. Shutout to Scott Brown. Game MVP, which is the Denny Girvin Memorial award, was a well deserved Paddy Nelson. Solid game from Bays, classy finish from Cowichan.
