Good Morning Adult League Members,
As we work together to ensure each youth player has a coach with the appropriate age/level of certification by June 2016 (per BC Soccer’s Rules & Regulations), BC Soccer is pleased to share what we are working to deliver as a means to assist the membership with this goal, below.
While BC Soccer’s Rules & Regulations state that the mandatory coach certification requirement is only for youth coaches, BC Soccer would like to confirm that these upcoming initiatives/benefits are also available for Adult Leagues and/or Clubs to take advantage of; therefore, encourage you to do so:
• NEW flexible coach certification course delivery options
Over the past 6 months BC Soccer has worked with test groups from within the membership to pilot flexible coach certification course delivery models. With successful results, BC Soccer’s Soccer Development Department is currently taking the next steps to implement these options.
• In-Club Learning Facilitator Initiative
Designed to assist Districts/Leagues/Clubs, this initiative will increase the number of qualified Coaching Learning Facilitators (Instructors) to deliver coach certification courses; in turn, service and support clubs towards meeting the mandatory coach certification requirement. To learn more about this initiative, please watch BC Soccer’s video: www.bcsoccer.net/mandatory-coach-education
CALL TO ACTION: To move forward this initiative BC Soccer is making a Call to Action for all Clubs and to put forth an individual(s) from within their organization to be trained to instruct BC Soccer Coach Certification courses. The link to put forward names is on the following page under the video - www.bcsoccer.net/mandatory-coach-education
Communication to Clubs
BC Soccer believes it is important to share this information with the wider soccer community. Therefore, we would like to make you aware that we have also communicated this message to youth clubs including the specific Call to Action.
Your additional support is much appreciated so we encourage you to forward and share this email to your affiliated Adult Clubs and/or coaches as you deem appropriate.
• Awareness video
To assist Districts/Leagues/Clubs, BC Soccer has created a short video with this information, provided at the link below. We encourage you to share this video with your League/Clubs’ coaches:
