Yea, results? Not everybody spent their Saturday standing around, getting wet in the monsoon. FVSL go home crowing or with their tail between their legs? The Doctor is curious...

U21 all stars defeated Div. 4 VISL all stars 3-0 VISL Masters all stars defeated FVSL Masters all stars 3-2 FVSL Mens Open all stars defeated VISL Mens Open all stars in a penalty shoot out.....I think it was 7 shooters Div. 2 VISL all stars defeated Div. 3 VISL all stars 4-1.
FVSL got on their bus and went home somewhat upset..............unfortunately, the trophy went missing and there seems to be contravercy as to where it is at this time. I was planning to have it cleaned for them - then things went somewhat sideways in the clubhouse. One thing led to another....autographs, field mice, beverages - whining & complaining,,,,,investigations. Still trying to make sense of it all. I believe Fraser Valley is putting in a protest with BC Soccer.....could be a tough protest as I saw a tweet with the VP of BC Soccer posing with the alleged trophy after the bus pulled away.
Scorers and mvp details tonight maybe ?

I'd like to thank all of the Division 2 all-stars they were class act and made it fun. Its good to get a group of opposing teammates together. Division 3 you made a game out of it, thanks a ton for a good game! I hope your keeper is ok.
Justin it was a pleasure being at the helm with you!
Also I would like to thank the referee for the first ever diving yellow card I've seen this season, classic!

Div 2 vs Div 3 recap - as Goalsmith mentioned the conditions were brutal, by the time our match got underway there was a small river on the clubhouse side of the pitch and the wind was wreaking havoc on goal kicks and crosses. The first 20 minutes of the game was a bit of back and forth with the teams getting used to playing with guys they are usually battling against. In a match-up like this it was always going to favour the div 2 all-stars and about 20 minutes in Jordie French scored off a great shot from about 20 yards out. That goal seemed to wake up the 3s and were a crossbar away from noting the score on a half volley from easily 30 yards out. John Shah added a goal off a partial breakaway and the teams went into the half with the 2s up 2 -nil.
Second half was much like the first until Jordan Korevan scored a wind aided diving header to make the score 3-0, the sides traded goals late in the half to finish at 4-1.
Despite the brutal conditions the game was awesome to be a part of and I have to say thanks to Neall aka cowichanpr for inviting me to be a part of the squad. The squad we put together was a great group of guys and it was a pleasure to coach them for a couple hours.

The days pictures now on our Facebook page......like the page and you might save some $ on registration next year ?? www.facebook.com/pages/Vancouver-Island-Soccer-League/179161668818253 - scroll down a couple posts to view. Again, as it has been mentioned already, and perhaps it is getting around more as to why I always mention our sponsors - Bill Sood from Spankit provided some sweet bags, and Moreno from Team Sales provided the great new style shirts. It would be nice to feel the love next year - feel free to go to those 2 places for all your soccer and promotional needs.

Also I would like to thank the referee for the first ever diving yellow card I've seen this season, classic! Just a quick comment about the so called "dive" that cost us a player... I'm not sure a player deserves a yellow for diving when he actually gets injured from the play??? The player needed to be subbed off directly after receiving the card (for that so called dive) and he was not able to return the game from the injury obtained... As far as I'm concerned... the call was the ref flexing his muscles and showing his authority... But the call was not the right call! Don't get me wrong... Makes no difference in the outcome of the game for us... It was never going to be easy for us. But... I believe the injured player deserves a little more respect than what was and is being showed for his efforts! Not having his services was a loss on our part and I don't believe is was just or deserved. He is a good guy and as far as I could tell from the little time I spent with him... He is not that type of player.

No disrespect meant sorry had no clue he was actually injured. Hoping for a speedy recovering. I merely thought witnessing a yellow for diving the first time in 2 years during an allstar game has some comic relief.

The player plays for castaways so I am not sure if he is fully healed...? But... Like u... I wish him all the best as well!
