Port Alberni 4-3 over Nanaimo in extra time. Was 1-1 after full time. Second half of extra time opened up with back and forth goals for an exciting finish. Alberni went up 2-1 in the first 10 of extra time on a pk from a mistimed tackle by the Nanaimo defender. Alberni then went up 3-1 in the second 15 and thought to have the game in the bag. Subbed on an extra defender in place of a striker, which is when it really seemed to open up. Nanaimo netted one to bring it back within 1 with lots of time on the clock. The Jamaican sensation, Andre Andrews, sealed the game though with a cheeky chip shot from just inside the 18 with a helpless Nanaimo netminder closing down the breakaway chance. Nanaimo pulled back within one with about 4 minutes left on the clock.Too little, too late.

Hellas beat Saanich braves 2-0 in a good battle. I would like to say that having seen the action, the Saanich Braves play as well as most Div 3 teams and should have no problem competing at that level, they played with heart and class, but were unfortunately outmatched.

Apparently castaways last penalty taker was a beast all day

Castaways cup run comes to an end. Had about 75% possession and close to a dozen decent scoring chances but couldn't score. Saltspring scored early on a nice long range shot and then parked the bus not allowing much space in front of their goal. Best of luck to the remaining teams.

hard to accept the loss and classless play by CR defender who prevented an obvious goal from crossing the line after battling back from a 2-1 deficit..in my opinion CR will have there hands full with either PR or Sagers in the quarters. How the hell did CR win 3A? i would just like to take this opportunity to point out a "sore loser". Its a shame that someone would end their season with a comment like this... especially with CR(yes that's correct, the team being promoted to Div 2, and who haven't been called classless by any opponents this season) beating the Hands down best team in 3B. So to call someone a Classless player in a blog such as this, could be construed as classless in itself... SO, i'm sorry to have brought this up again but i'll leave you all with a quote “It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt"-Mark Twain

not to make excuses but I would say a large reason why they beat PR is because PR was missing most or their starters and CR would not change the game date, but these things happen. Or were you saying that bobcats are the best in 3B, if so then ignore my comment lol.
Will be nice to play CR next year in Div 2 as I have not played them since high school.

For the record C.R were missing some starters as well but we have faith in our bench..We have players who work away so if we changed the game we would lose those players as well..Never the less C.R dominated from start to finish and the better team won..We also know that playing in P.R next year will be a tough place to play as it always is for some reason hmmm..P.R were a bunch of good lads and we thought the game was played in good spirit.
